Former Bauchi Deputy Governor Loses Two Children in Fatal Road Crash
The former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, suffered a tragic loss when two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, died in a car accident on July 24. Their vehicle crashed along the Bauchi-Azare road as they returned from Azare, and both were pronounced dead at the scene. The bodies were taken to a Bauchi hospital where the deaths were confirmed. In a statement from his media office, the governor described the incident as a painful tragedy for the entire state. The funeral prayer is scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi at 11:00 a.m. The governor urged all who are affected by the accident to keep the family in their prayers and find strength in faith.
