NPFL Nears ₦10.2bn Sponsorship Deal, Plans Music Stars for Match-Day Entertainment
Nigeria Premier Football League chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye says the league is close to finalising a three-year title sponsorship agreement valued at about ₦10.2 billion. According to Elegbeleye, the prospective deal could be unveiled before the league’s Annual General Meeting on August 7. He said the partnership is expected to support the NPFL’s digital growth as well as its commercial operations. The league is also discussing collaborations with leading Nigerian musicians to boost match-day attendance and fan engagement. A dedicated social-media unit, involving sports journalists, creators and influencers, is expected to expand the NPFL’s online reach ahead of the new season. Elegbeleye added that clubs must complete their licensing requirements as the league plans to maintain its August-to-May calendar.
