FMC Abeokuta Appoints Dr. Olusola Adebisi as New Head of Clinical Services

Dr. Olusola Adebisi has officially assumed office as the new Head of Clinical Services at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, on June 15, 2026. His appointment was approved by the hospital’s Board of Management at an extraordinary meeting on June 8. Dr. Adebisi succeeds Dr. A.S. Adediran and brings extensive experience from his previous role as Head of the Nephrology Unit. A leading nephrologist in West Africa, he has championed preventive kidney health campaigns and mentored numerous resident doctors and specialist nurses. His leadership roles include serving as Faculty Treasurer of the West African College of Physicians and chairing his local MDCAN chapter. Outside medicine, Dr. Adebisi is active in community service as Rotary Club president and Social Secretary of the Abeokuta Sports Club. He plans to enhance patient-centred care, research, training and collaboration across all clinical departments.

Assuming Dr Adebisi's role began smoothly on June 15 overlooks ongoing resource challenges at the centre that could slow progress.

It would help if the new head sets up regular staff meetings to address immediate clinical service gaps and streamline patient care.
