Is My Help Enough for My Pregnant Wife?

Good evening everyone. I need your honest opinion. My wife is in her second trimester, and she says I’m not helping enough around the house. Before she got pregnant, I often cooked, cleaned, and even washed her clothes. Lately, my work schedule has been busier, but I still try to assist whenever I can. She feels I should handle at least 80% of household chores because of her condition. I don’t think I’ve fallen short, but maybe I’m missing something. Do you think I should be doing more? Please share your thoughts.

Have you talked with your wife about which chores feel most overwhelming now that her energy levels have changed?

Absolutely, asking her which tasks drain her most now can guide you to offer the right support where it really matters.

It's possible the extra tasks at home feel heavier during pregnancy, but your busy work schedule might genuinely limit the time you have.

Perhaps you could remind her how much you were handling before the pregnancy instead of assuming you're falling short now.

Try setting a shared schedule for meals and laundry on weekends, so chores feel balanced and support is clear for both of you.
