NPFL Clubs to Get 60% of New $7.5m Sponsorship Deal for Player Welfare
Nigeria Premier Football League clubs will receive a major financial boost after the league secured a three-year, $7.5 million title sponsorship deal with EUROMATCH. The agreement, valued at $2.5 million per season, begins with the 2026/27 campaign. NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye said 60 per cent of the sponsorship funds will go directly to participating clubs. He said the money must be used to improve players’ salaries and welfare, stressing that footballers should be the main beneficiaries of the league’s commercial growth. The announcement follows confirmation that the 2026/27 NPFL champions will earn a record ₦1 billion prize money.
