Nigerian-German forward Karim Adeyemi has named Barcelona and Spain star Lamine Yamal as his preferred winner of the 2026 Ballon d'Or. Adeyemi said Yamal would deserve the prize after an outstanding year for club and country. The 19-year-old helped Barcelona retain the La Liga title and was also part of Spain's World Cup-winning side. Yamal contributed 16 goals and 12 assists in the 2025/26 league season. He has continued his strong form this season, with seven goals and two assists as Barcelona lead La Liga. The race also includes several elite players, but Yamal believes the award should go to the best overall player rather than simply the highest scorer.
