Amaechi Denies Being Offered ADC Vice-Presidential Ticket, Says “They Know My Worth”
Rotimi Amaechi has dismissed rumours that the African Democratic Congress offered him the vice-presidential slot after its 2027 presidential primary. He secured 504,117 votes and placed second behind Atiku Abubakar’s 1,846,370 votes. Mohammed Hayatu-Deen followed with 177,120 votes. Amaechi raised concerns over alleged irregularities before rejecting the results. In an interview, he explained that he consulted with Hayatu-Deen and met the ADC chairman. He insists no vice-presidential offer was ever discussed. His remarks come after similar rigging accusations from Hayatu-Deen. Abubakar later met Amaechi to forge unity among aspirants ahead of the election.
