Prepare Faithfully for the Purpose God Has Shown You
God’s purpose for your life may be great, but preparation must match the responsibility ahead. Divine promises do not remove the need for discipline, character, knowledge and faithful service. David was anointed long before he became king. While caring for sheep and facing difficult assignments, he developed courage, leadership and trust in God. Joseph also remained faithful in Potiphar’s house and in prison, building the wisdom and character he needed before standing before Pharaoh. Do not only pray for opportunities. Prepare for them. Develop your gifts, grow in knowledge, strengthen your character and be diligent in the responsibilities you have today. Your present season may be preparing you for your future assignment. Meditate on this: Is my preparation strong enough for the purpose I am asking God to fulfil?
