Tinubu Inaugurates Renewable Energy College and Green Hydrogen Plant in Kogi
President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Barefoot Renewable Energy College in Osara, Kogi State, alongside a Green Hydrogen Research and Demonstration Pilot Plant. Vice President Kashim Shettima represented the President at the event held at the Confluence University of Science and Technology. The college is designed to train technicians, installers, operators and maintenance professionals in renewable-energy technologies. Its facilities include smart classrooms, battery-energy laboratories, a mini-grid simulation centre and energy-efficiency laboratories. Tinubu said the institution would help close Nigeria’s renewable-energy skills gap and give graduates internationally recognised qualifications. Kogi State officials and federal representatives said the project could support job creation, research, innovation and wider access to cleaner energy.
