Atiku Praises Rescue of 360 Boko Haram Captives, Urges Action for Remaining Hostages
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commended the Nigerian military’s Operation HADIN KAI for freeing 360 civilians held by Boko Haram in Ngoshe, Borno State. He described the rescue from the Mandara Mountains as a relief for victims and their families. While welcoming this success, Atiku warned that the fight against terrorism is far from over. He urged the government to step up efforts to free the nearly 100 schoolchildren and teachers still held hostage in Oriire, Oyo State, and Mussa, Borno State. The presidential candidate called for reforms in Nigeria’s security architecture. He advocated intelligence-driven operations, improved technology, and preventive strategies. According to him, with adequate equipment and strong leadership, the military can finally bring an end to the insurgency.
