Odunlade Adekola, Tomi Ojo and Others Star in Yoruba Fantasy Film "Alahun: The Weaver"
Yoruba fantasy-adventure film "Alahun: The Weaver" is set for release in Nigerian cinemas on 21 August 2026. Produced by Kayode Kasum and directed by Dare Olaitan, the film marks Olaitan’s first feature since "Ile Owo" in 2022. The story follows a young man ridiculed for weaving baskets and plaiting hair, crafts his community considers unsuitable for men. His refusal to abandon the work he loves leads him into a mystical journey with the fate of his kingdom at stake. Set against a richly styled Yoruba period world, the film explores craftsmanship, heritage and cultural identity. Its cast includes Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Lateef Adedimeji, Moshood Fattah, Kunle Remi, Tomi Ojo, Omowunmi Dada, Faithia Williams, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Tope Tedela and Peter Fatomilola.
