Can I Settle My Loan by Paying Only the Principal Amount?

I borrowed ₦800k and was asked to repay ₦949k in one month. I’ve always paid early, but this time I couldn’t meet the deadline. I plan to clear the full balance by the end of next month. However, daily interest keeps piling up, and it may be hard to cover it all. I’d like to know if I can appeal to the lender to accept just the original principal. Can they waive or discount the extra interest through negotiation? Has anyone gone through this with the same lender? What was the outcome? I’m in a tough spot and need advice.
