Terrorists Kill Two Customs Officers in Kebbi Border Community
Gunmen suspected to be members of the Lakurawa group attacked two Nigeria Customs checkpoints in Tuga community, Bagudu LGA, Kebbi State. The early-morning raid on May 13 saw the attackers disguise their truck as carrying livestock. They shot one officer and set fire to a sleeping senior officer, killing him. Two other officers are now hospitalized with gunshot wounds. The Nigeria Customs Service confirmed that Assistant Superintendent Bamigboye and Deputy Superintendent Dom paid the supreme sacrifice. Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi called the incident deeply painful and praised customs operatives for their frontline role in border security.
