Customs Recruitment: Listed Candidates Petition Tinubu Over Alleged Training Invite Discrepancies
Candidates listed among the 3,852 successful applicants in the Nigeria Customs Service recruitment exercise have petitioned President Bola Tinubu over alleged irregularities in the final stage of the process. They claim that some applicants whose names were not on the published list received documentation and training invitations, while listed candidates were still waiting for instructions. The petitioners want the Federal Government and Customs Service to investigate and clarify the selection process. The recruitment exercise began in December 2024 and reportedly drew more than 573,000 applications. Successful applicants were listed across the Superintendent, Inspector and Customs Assistant cadres. The allegations have not been independently confirmed. An official response from the Nigeria Customs Service would be needed to establish whether the training process was changed or any candidate was wrongly included or excluded.
