A Question About God, Tests and Human Choice

My response to the “Good Vs Evil” discussion is that God created the world as a test, with paradise or hell as the outcome. Difficult experiences can be part of that test. But if we are free to question God, then another question follows: were we given a choice about taking part in the test at all?
