Lagos Retired Senior Civil Servants Set Security Summit for August 11–12

The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries will hold its 13th Annual Summit on August 11 and 12, 2026, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja. Activities begin at 9:00 a.m. each day. The summit is themed “Security: Sanctity of Lives and Safety of Property: Creating a New Norm in Lagos State.” It will examine emerging security threats, community involvement and stronger cooperation between government agencies, security bodies and residents. Current and former public officials, security experts, policymakers and private-sector stakeholders are expected to discuss practical recommendations for protecting lives and property in Lagos. The organisers say the dialogue will support efforts to improve public safety, peace and economic stability in the state.

A two-day summit in Alausa gives the association room to treat security as more than a one-session discussion.

The theme sounds important, but a summit alone will not change much unless its discussions lead to clear follow-up actions.
