FG Opens 2027/2028 Commonwealth Scholarship Applications for Nigerian Graduates
The Federal Ministry of Education has opened the nomination exercise for the 2027/2028 Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship Plan for qualified Nigerian university graduates. The awards are for study in the United Kingdom. Available programmes include a one-year taught Master’s degree and doctoral study of up to three years. Master’s applicants need at least a Second Class Upper degree. Doctoral applicants need a relevant Master’s degree, at least a Second Class Lower in their first degree, admission offers from two UK institutions, a prospective supervisor’s supporting statement and NYSC evidence. Applicants should submit their forms through the Electronic Application System and upload the required documents, including academic transcripts, passport photograph, birth certificate and admission letter. The application deadline is 20 October 2026. Priority fields include education, health, engineering, science and technology, governance, climate and environment, water and sanitation, food and nutrition, and economic growth.
