Eid-el-Maulud: CAN Urges Nigerians to Reject Religious Division Ahead of 2027

The Christian Association of Nigeria has urged Christians and Muslims not to allow politicians to divide them along religious or ethnic lines ahead of the 2027 general elections. In its Eid-el-Maulud message, CAN said the values associated with Prophet Muhammad’s birth—mercy, justice, honesty, compassion and peaceful coexistence—should guide Nigerians at a time of rising living costs and insecurity. The association called on the Federal Government and other leaders to translate promises into visible action on security, economic relief and citizens’ welfare. It also appealed to Nigerians to protect their communities, support vulnerable people and put national unity above political interests.
