Tailor Your CV to Each Job Description Before You Apply

One mistake many job seekers make is sending the same CV to every employer. A strong CV may still be overlooked if it does not clearly reflect the relevant skills and terms in the job description. Many employers use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to screen applications before a recruiter sees them. For a frontend role, for example, a job description may emphasise React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Next.js, REST APIs and Git. If I have those skills but fail to mention them clearly, my application may not show how well I fit the role. I should only add terms that genuinely reflect my experience, not stuff my CV with skills I cannot demonstrate.
