Siraam Explores Heartbreak, Sexual Health and Life Beyond Shame

Siraam Explores Heartbreak, Sexual Health and Life Beyond Shame

Siraam is a short film about a young woman navigating heartbreak, casual sex, self-discovery and sexual health. It challenges the way people may treat conversations about sex as normal until someone mentions an STI, pregnancy or a sexual experience that attracts judgment. The film presents Siraam as a complete and imperfect person rather than a stereotype. As she deals with relationships, career pressures and emotional pain, she insists on safer sex and confronts the consequences of her choices without being reduced to them. Its central message is that shame does not improve sexual health. By treating STI testing and treatment as ordinary healthcare, the film encourages young people to seek help, use protection and make choices that feel safe and comfortable for their bodies. Inspired by a real-life story, Siraam aims to start more honest conversations about consent, condoms, heartbreak and seeking treatment without fear of judgment.
