Trump Says He Pressed Netanyahu to Hold Fire on Iran: ‘Israel Could Be Left Alone’

US President Donald Trump told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel risked standing alone if it escalated its conflict with Iran. Trump said he only got last-minute notice of Israel’s initial strikes and managed to persuade Netanyahu to scale back their scope. Some forum members warn continued strikes could undermine Israeli forces in Palestine, likening the imbalance to handing a sledgehammer to Anthony Joshua against a butterfly.

I'm not convinced the president's narrative captures the full picture or that urging Netanyahu alone stopped further escalation.

Scaling back strikes could reduce immediate risk, but sustained diplomacy and multilateral talks remain key to preventing any renewed Israel-Iran confrontation.
