Maresca: I Will Build My Own Style at Manchester City, Not Copy Guardiola
Enzo Maresca says he will build his own identity at Manchester City rather than attempt to copy Pep Guardiola's approach. The Italian succeeds Guardiola after the Spaniard's 10-year spell, which brought 20 major trophies, including six Premier League titles. Maresca previously worked as Guardiola's assistant during City's Treble-winning 2022/23 campaign. While both coaches favour possession football and playing out from the back, Maresca says every manager has a different view of the game. He added that Guardiola should enjoy his break while he focuses on finding his own solutions for the 2026/27 season.
