JAMB Releases 632,788 First-Batch UTME Results – Here’s How to Check

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has opened its portal for the first batch of 2026 UTME results. A total of 632,788 candidates can now view their scores via SMS. To check your result, text “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 from the number used during registration. Note that result printing is not yet available. JAMB warned that altering or falsifying SMS results is a criminal offence. Two candidates and one parent are already in custody over alleged AI-aided result fraud. More results will be released in batches as processing continues.

Did anyone else find the SMS process for checking JAMB UTME results straightforward or did you hit any snags?

Absolutely! The SMS steps felt like a quick game. A few seconds after sending the code, I had my result in hand.

That's a huge number of candidates—over six hundred thousand. The portal might struggle under heavy traffic.

Sending a text seems old-school. It would be better to offer an online dashboard or app to bypass SMS delays entirely.

Make sure you're messaging from the number used during registration and double-check the shortcode before sending to avoid any wasted texts.
