Granit Xhaka Admits Obtaining Forged COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate While at Arsenal

Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka has admitted obtaining a forged COVID-19 vaccination certificate during his time at Arsenal, despite not receiving the vaccine. In a statement, the Switzerland international said he acted out of fear and uncertainty about the vaccine. He apologised, accepted responsibility and said he would cooperate with the authorities investigating the matter. The Swiss Football Association has excluded Xhaka from the national team’s upcoming training camp and Nations League fixtures, saying the decision would allow the squad to focus on its preparations.
