A Parable of Selfishness: How Greedy Politicians Might Lose Everything
I came across the parable of Bongo this morning. In the first story, a man tossed away a large thorn that wounded his son, only to step on it years later. This shows that evil we cast aside can return to harm us. In the second tale, a humble man becomes king but hides his leprosy until his court abandons him. His refusal to leave the throne leads to loneliness, decay, and eventual death in a deserted palace. The lesson is clear: those who hoard power and wealth for themselves will ultimately lose it all. Greedy leaders would do well to learn that selfishness destroys its holder.
