UK Inquest Finds 27-Year-Old Nigerian Mother Died by Suicide After Year-Long Struggle
An inquest has concluded that 27-year-old Beatrice Solomon, a Nigerian mother living in Stoke-on-Trent, took her own life after battling mental health challenges for more than a year. She was found unresponsive at her home on March 4, 2026, by her husband, who returned from work two hours after leaving. Paramedics arrived shortly afterwards but sadly pronounced her dead at 6:21pm, with officers ruling out any third-party involvement. Evidence at the hearing revealed ongoing stress linked to disputes with the local council and two previous suicide attempts. The coroner recorded a verdict of suicide, noting she had researched and planned her death. Beatrice, a carer who arrived from Nigeria in November 2023, leaves behind her young son and family back home.
