Enugu State Government and the South East Development Commission have formalised a partnership under the South East Agro Development Programme. The agreement aims to turn agriculture into a driver for economic growth, industrialisation, and food security across the South-East. The Secretary to the State Government highlighted plans to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion through strategic investments in value addition and agro-processing. Over 52,000 hectares of farmland have been set aside for this initiative. SEDC’s Executive Director of Projects praised Enugu’s improved security and investor-friendly policies. The collaboration is expected to attract critical investments, create jobs for youth, and position Enugu as a leading agro-industrial hub in the region.
