My Close Friend Took My Church Tailoring Business Idea and Cut Me Off
I met Sandra at church in Ibadan in 2011, and we quickly became close. I saw her as a younger sister and shared nearly everything with her, including my plan to start a tailoring business that would make choir robes for our church. She discouraged the idea, saying it might be difficult to find steady customers. Weeks later, I discovered that she had supplied matching robes to the church choir without telling me. When I tried to ask her about it, she ignored my calls and messages and eventually stopped attending our church. She apologised years later, but I could not trust her enough to rebuild the friendship. The experience taught me to be more careful about boundaries and trust in friendships.
