Mixed deposits, informal transfers and irregular sales can make a legitimate income look unclear on a bank statement. Freelancers may also need to reconcile foreign payment-platform records with withdrawals into their Nigerian accounts. Start building your records early. Register your business with CAC, check the tax obligations that apply to you, and separate business money from personal spending. Keep invoices, receipts, client records and a short written summary of what the business does, how long it has operated and the skills you have gained. CAC registration may be faster than many people assume, but a clean bank history and consistent records cannot be created overnight. If you are targeting a visa, university or scholarship, check its requirements early and prepare documents that tell a clear story about your self-employment and source of funds.
