Omotola Says Nollywood Marketers Allegedly Banned Veteran Actors in 2015
Veteran actress Omotola Jalade says she and several leading Nollywood actors were allegedly barred from acting around 2015 after pushing for higher standards and greater accountability in the industry. Speaking in a recent radio interview, she named Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nouah, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Jim Iyke and others as actors affected by the dispute with movie marketers. Omotola said the marketers viewed their demands for stronger structures and better-quality productions as a threat. Although a reconciliation meeting was later arranged, she said she did not attend.
