Ebonyi Group Accuses Tinubu’s Minister of $300,000 Bribe in NDC Senatorial Primary
A platform called Ebonyi Integrity Group says a serving minister in President Tinubu’s cabinet offered $300,000 to influence the Ebonyi Central senatorial primary. The inducement was allegedly meant to favour one aspirant over another, namely former SSG Prof. Bernard Odoh and businessman Christian Asaga Nwali. The group claims that party officials and the primary committee chair were briefly detained at the state secretariat. Intervention by the DSS, after pressure from stakeholders, secured their release and allowed primaries to resume across the zone. Ebonyi Integrity Group is urging NDC leaders and stakeholders to reject any last-minute bribery attempts. They call on the party to uphold the integrity of the election ahead of the National Executive Council meeting to ratify primary results.
