How Long Did It Take You to Stabilize Your Career? Lessons from My 10-Year Journey
Reflecting on our career journey helps us track growth and guide others. Think back from your graduation day to today. How has your path unfolded? What lessons can you share? How long did it take you to find stability? I graduated from ABU Zaria in December 2014. Over the next ten years, I worked as an address verification officer, taught at primary and secondary schools, rode a Keke Napep, sold goods in a van, and served as an entry-level sales manager. It took a decade to cross the six-figure income threshold. Today, I am a business manager and entrepreneur striving for seven-figure earnings. Here are my key lessons: 1. Growth demands effort and patience. 2. Stay positive. Turn setbacks into opportunities. 3. Build connections. Hard work helps, but relationships accelerate progress. 4. Don’t expect a handout. Others might watch even if they can help. 5. Always keep hope alive. Share your experience and the time it took you to stabilize.
