APM Candidate Ajadi Demands Tinubu’s Resignation Amid Surge in Insecurity

APM Candidate Ajadi Demands Tinubu’s Resignation Amid Surge in Insecurity

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has criticised President Bola Tinubu for failing to protect Nigerians following the recent abduction in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. He argued that no government can claim success when citizens live in fear of kidnappings, attacks, and banditry. Ajadi pointed out that funds saved from the removal of the fuel subsidy have not been used effectively to tackle insecurity. He also echoed Governor Seyi Makinde’s observation that state governments lack direct control over federal security agencies, revealing a major gap in the nation’s security architecture. He called on the Federal Government to ramp up operations by recruiting more personnel, deploying modern surveillance technology, boosting intelligence networks, and improving collaboration between federal and state security outfits. He warned that unchecked insecurity undermines economic growth, agriculture, education, and investment across Nigeria. Ajadi insisted that Nigerians deserve a government capable of guaranteeing the safety of lives and property. He urged President Tinubu to resign honourably and urged authorities to take practical steps to restore public confidence in the nation’s security system.

Demanding resignation seems premature if underlying security failures aren't fully assessed by independent reports.
