Queiroz Resigns as Ghana Coach, Urges Black Stars to Aim Higher

Carlos Queiroz has stepped down as head coach of the Ghana national team after the Black Stars bowed out of the World Cup in the round of 32. Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in Kansas City, managing only eight shots on target in the match. Queiroz, who led Iran at the previous World Cup, said he leaves with pride in his achievements but with the drive for more. He urged the Black Stars to build success off the pitch, calling for better preparation, protection and development of Ghana’s football talent. Queiroz had been appointed in April following Otto Addo’s departure.

Do you think Queiroz's departure was timely or could Ghana have recovered under him if they'd adjusted tactics sooner?

I agree his departure felt necessary now, though fresh tactics early on might've steered them back on track.

Eight shots on target really underlines how predictable Ghana's attack became under Queiroz's structured approach.

I'm not convinced that changing coach alone will lift the Black Stars; they need stronger domestic league support too.

Ghana should focus on investing in youth academies and scouting to build a more dynamic squad for the next tournament.
