Peter Obi Challenges Kenneth Okonkwo to Air Allegations in Court

Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi has defended his decision to sue Kenneth Okonkwo for defamation, saying he welcomes a full airing of any allegations in open court. Obi told broadcaster Rufai Oseni that he filed the lawsuit after Okonkwo hinted at having more damaging information, adding that all claims should be tested before a judge. He stressed that political leaders must submit to public scrutiny so Nigerians can assess their character and competence. I fully support this move. I have never seen a Nigerian politician invite such transparency. Kenneth Okonkwo now has the platform to present his evidence, and this action also eliminates any future attempts at blackmail.
