Kogi Begins ₦40,000 Cash Support for 12,112 Schoolgirls
Kogi State’s Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment has begun distributing preloaded ATM cards to 12,112 schoolgirls in the second phase of its conditional cash transfer programme. Each beneficiary will receive ₦40,000 through an account opened for the intervention. Distribution is taking place across Kogi’s three senatorial districts to make collection easier for eligible students. The programme is designed to help adolescent girls stay in school, move successfully between education levels and reduce financial barriers faced by families. The first cohort reached 13,359 girls, while parents and beneficiaries say the new disbursement will support girls’ education.
