1 / 4

Cardinal Peter Okpalaeke of Ekwulobia diocese has urged Senator Emmanuel Nwachukwu to speak firmly against the rising attacks on Christians across Nigeria. Delivering a homily at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ukpor, the bishop reminded the senator that his role goes beyond politics and includes defending the rights of the faithful. He encouraged the lawmaker to let God guide his decisions and use his influence to halt indiscriminate bloodshed. In his response, Senator Nwachukwu reflected on the challenges he faced since his August bye-election, from tribunal battles to pushing for better roads, electricity and erosion control in Anambra South. He thanked the church and local leaders for their prayers and support, and pledged to continue working for his constituents and the nation.
