Ijebu–Remo Road Mystery: Testing Yayi’s Record of Stewardship

Leadership is about stewardship, not power. As Senator Solomon Adeola “Yayi” eyes the 2027 Ogun governorship, his tenure as Senate Appropriations Chair deserves close scrutiny. A recent analysis in a national newspaper highlights a ₦70 million allocation for an “Ijebu–Remo Road.” There is no officially named road by that title. Ogun indigenes and all Nigerians deserve to know which project this refers to and how it was inserted into the budget. Every line in the national budget should be clear and verifiable. Vague or erroneous descriptions undermine public confidence and weaken democratic accountability. Stewardship precedes promotion. Every governorship aspirant should welcome questions about their record. Trust remains democracy’s greatest currency, and transparency is its first qualification.

What specific outcomes should we expect from that ₦70 million road allocation under Senator Adeola's stewardship before backing his 2027 governorship bid?

I'm with you! If Senator Adeola delivers visible fixes and less gridlock with that ₦70m, we'll know he's serious about real change.

That newspaper analysis highlights the allocation but offers no clarity on maintenance plans or project milestones.

We shouldn't single out Adeola's tenure without comparing these allocations to similar projects in other regions; context really matters.

Local stakeholders should demand a detailed breakdown of road works, including timelines and contractors, to hold future governors accountable.
