My Thumb’s Deformity: The Lasting Impact of Secondary School Bullying
I’m still living with the physical scar left by a bullying incident in secondary school. My left thumb developed a strange growth after a senior beat me when I was in JSS3 at FGGC Langtang in 2013. After I graduated in 2016, I underwent surgery to remove the growth, but it only worsened. I’m still planning another operation to correct it. Although I never reported the senior responsible and have long forgiven her, I can’t forget the hostel where she lived. I continue to deal with unwanted attention because of how my thumb looks.
