National Museum of Unity, Ibadan Marks 50 Years of Culture and Cohesion
On 4 June 2026, the National Museum of Unity in Ibadan celebrated its golden jubilee alongside International Museum Day. The event brought together cultural enthusiasts, traditional leaders and officials to honour five decades of preserving Nigeria’s heritage. Calls were made for continued partnerships to leverage heritage as a tool for unity. The festivities peaked with performances by the Asantiwa Cultural Group and Ekpe dancers. Guests also witnessed the unveiling of “Iba Oluyole”, a monumental sculpture celebrating Ibadan’s history.
