Anambra-Born Mmesoma Okonkwo Named World’s Top Learner in Cambridge IGCSE English
Mmesoma Okonkwo, an Anambra indigene and 2023 graduate of Chrisland High School, VGC, Lagos, has been named the world’s top learner in Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language. She received the British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Award for her performance. Okonkwo also recorded A1 grades in all nine subjects she sat for in WASSCE, finishing as the best graduating student and Head Girl of her set. She previously won the Lagos State Inter-School Essay Competition. Okonkwo hopes to study Business and build a multinational enterprise focused on youth empowerment and education reform. Her achievement highlights the value of quality education and greater support for young Nigerians, especially girls.
