Tragedy in Kano: Father and Daughter Die in Rescue Attempt at Abandoned Well

Kano State Fire Service confirmed that 45-year-old Abubakar Abdullahi and his 15-year-old daughter, Fiddausi, lost their lives after falling into an old dry well in Yancibi village, Tsanyawa LGA. Firefighters from the local branch and headquarters battled darkness and difficult conditions to pull both victims out unconscious. They were later pronounced dead, with preliminary reports pointing to oxygen deprivation. The bodies were handed over to the village head. The fire service extended condolences to the family and warned against entering wells without proper rescue equipment.
