The Divine Exchange: How Christ Took Our Sin and Gave Us Righteousness
2 Corinthians 5:21 teaches that Christ, who knew no sin, became sin for us so we might share in God’s righteousness. This is the heart of our redemption. Jesus was pure, spotless, and unfallen. On the cross, he bore the full weight of humanity’s sin and stood in our place so we could stand before God without shame. Through this divine exchange, our corruption became his righteousness, our condemnation became justification, and our death became life and sonship. We don’t earn this righteousness by our works. We receive it by faith in Christ. The cross was substitution, and the resurrection proved the payment was accepted.
