Africa Magic to Air Olu Jacobs Tribute Documentary

Africa Magic Showcase will premiere a documentary celebrating the life and legacy of veteran Nigerian actor Sir Olu Jacobs, who died on 16 September 2026. Titled “Doyen of Nollywood: Celebrating Olu Jacobs,” the film explores his work in theatre, television and film, as well as his lasting influence on Nigeria’s creative industry. It is directed by Femi Odugbemi and produced by Zuri 24 Media. Joke Silva, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Patience Ozokwor, Kate Henshaw, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett and other industry figures share memories of Jacobs’ discipline, professionalism and contribution to Nollywood. The documentary premieres on Africa Magic Showcase on Friday, 25 September, at 6:35 pm, with further broadcasts across Africa Magic channels.
