Ogun Police Crack Down on Traffic Obstructions, Impound Six Vehicles

Ogun Police Crack Down on Traffic Obstructions, Impound Six Vehicles — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The Ogun State Police have intensified Operation “No Traffic Gridlock” along major highways in Sango Ota and Ijebu Ode. Illegal shanties and roadside structures were dismantled during coordinated night raids, while early morning patrols cleared obstruction points and impounded six vehicles violating traffic regulations. Heavy-duty trucks parked indiscriminately at the toll gates were moved, easing persistent build-ups and restoring smooth traffic flow along these key corridors. The State Police PRO confirmed the exercise was ordered by the Commissioner of Police and warned motorists and traders that illegal parking and roadside trading will no longer be tolerated.

I've noticed evening traffic seems smoother around those areas since the police stepped up night patrols.

By what metric did you judge improvement in traffic—travel time, vehicle count, or something else?

Drivers should avoid known obstruction points in Sango Ota early morning and use alternative routes to reduce delays and gridlock.
