Troops Arrest Alleged ISWAP Spy and Boko Haram Logistics Agents in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai arrested a 26-year-old man at the Kekeno-Monguno checkpoint on June 19. He is suspected of spying for ISWAP and plotting attacks on military formations in Borno State. On June 20, soldiers from the 162 Amphibious Battalion stopped two men, Ibrahim Muhammad and Saidu Abdulazeez, along Mandaragirau-Sabon Gari road. They were found carrying a vehicle, clothing, electronics and banking records believed meant for Boko Haram supply networks. All suspects and exhibits are now held at Abogo Largema Cantonment for further interrogation. Military authorities say the arrests could yield vital intelligence on insurgent movements and logistics in the North-East.
