FCT Police Nab Three Armed Kidnappers Brandishing AK-47s in Viral Video

FCT Police Nab Three Armed Kidnappers Brandishing AK-47s in Viral Video — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The FCT Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers seen in a viral video with AK-47 rifles, ammunition and walkie-talkies while wearing military camouflage. According to FCT Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi, digital forensics and actionable intelligence led officers to the suspects’ hideout in Runji Village, Zuba. A coordinated dawn raid on May 25 recovered the weapons and secured the arrest of Umar Babangida (25), Adamu Yeti (22) and Yahaya Idris (24), all from Kaduna State. Initial investigations show the rifles were supplied by a gang leader known as Esco, who remains at large. Police also found more footage and photos on the suspects’ phones. Authorities are continuing their manhunt for Esco and other members of the syndicate.

It seems unusual that armed suspects would parade walkie-talkies and camouflage so publicly without detection.
