NANS Says Late Law School Student Finished Externship Five Days Before Death
A National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) investigative committee says Faith Alayande, the Nigerian Law School student who died at the Lagos Campus, had completed her externship about five days before the incident. The committee said she was expected to have returned home but may have remained on campus because of financial constraints. Alayande, 23, was a student of the Enugu Campus on externship in Lagos and was reported to have died after falling from the rooftop of a hostel. Following talks with Lagos Campus management, NANS said the Law School is considering a review of accommodation arrangements for externship students. The association also called for stronger mental-health and welfare support, encouraging students to seek help for financial, emotional, academic or family challenges.
