Jamie Carragher believes Michael Carrick may have deliberately left Bruno Fernandes on the bench throughout Manchester United’s 3-0 Premier League defeat to Bournemouth. Fernandes was dropped from the starting line-up after reportedly questioning the coaching staff’s tactics following the midweek loss to Como. Mason Mount started in his place. With United behind, Fernandes warmed up but was not introduced. Carrick instead brought on Matheus Cunha, Joshua Zirkzee and Shea Lacey. Carragher said the decision appeared to be a public statement to the United captain as pressure grows on Carrick after another heavy home defeat.
