Nkechi Blessing Postpones ‘Egusi Ogbono’ Release Following Actor Cjay’s Death

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has postponed the planned release of her film, “Egusi Ogbono,” after the death of actor Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, known as Cjay. The film was scheduled for release at 5 p.m. on September 30. Nkechi shared the news in an emotional video after visiting the hospital where Cjay was confirmed dead. She did not disclose the cause of his death. Cjay, an Awka-born actor based in Lagos, began his acting career in 2021. He appeared in productions including “Larry Cold,” “Mum Overnight,” “A Day To My Wedding,” “The Lies She Tell,” and “What Time Left.” No new release date has been announced for “Egusi Ogbono,” while details of Cjay’s funeral arrangements are yet to be made public.
